Parish Life
We have various opportunities for you to participate in the life of our church community. Please contact St. Michael’s Church Office at 985-626-5781 or [email protected] for more information.
Worship Ministries
Many volunteers are needed to make St. Michael’s Sunday worship a rewarding experience for all. We welcome both new parishioners and longtime members in any role – simply reach out to the office so that we can provide training and support.

Music Ministry
Music is intimately bound with the proclamation of the Word, an opportunity for us to express through hymns, anthems and liturgy those feelings that are often difficult to express with words. It is meant to deepen and enrich our worship experience. St. Michael’s Choir sings at the 9:00 a.m. service and for holidays. Youth Choir members sing at the 10:30 a.m. service and for holidays. NO training is required—we welcome new choir members! Music Director: Allison Kenning |
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild prepares all the things necessary for the celebration of the Eucharist or any of the other sacraments and offices of the church under the direction of the priest. This behind-the-scenes ministry is a gift of time and talent to serve God in His house, caring for the linens and vessels and making things ready. It is a great privilege to serve God through setting His table. Coordinator: Wanda Soukup |
Flower Guild
Channel your inner artist as a member of the Flower Guild. This ministry purchases and arranges seasonal flowers and green growing things that enhance the beauty of our sanctuary and gladden our hearts. Anyone with a love of flowers is encouraged to join. The Guild offers training and workshops—no experience required. Coordinator: Ferris Hotard |

Women in God’s Service (WINGS)
About every six weeks, a Thursday Evening Ladies Book study gathers at the church, at a restaurant, or in someone’s home. It’s an opportunity for women to get connected, read a Christian-themed, popular or classic book, and encourage each other in their Christian walk. For the latest meeting date and time, email [email protected].

Pastoral Care
The pastoral care ministry shares God’s love to those in need in our parish. Eucharistic visitors bring Communion or simply visit. The meal ministry provides home-cooked food following a birth, surgery, illness, death, or other times of transition. The prayer shawl, lapghans, and baby blanket ministry crochets or knits items that are blessed and then given to people during times of need.

Foyer Groups
Foyer groups are rotational dinner parties formed to foster personal bonds with fellow Christians. These purely social gathering include groups of 6-8 people of all ages and walks of life who get together to share food, fun, and fellowship. At the start of the rotation, each participant is assigned to a group, and that group meets regulary until a new rotation starts. For every meeting, different members host in their home or other designated location.
