Position Title: Director of St. Michael Episcopal Preschool
About St. Michael’s Episcopal Preschool: Located in Mandeville, LA, St. Michael’s Episcopal Preschool is a beacon of early childhood education. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and enhance the operations of 14 full-day classrooms and three half-day classrooms, ensuring alignment with our mission to nurture every aspect of child development in a Christian setting.
- Supervise and mentor a team of 42 faculty and an assistant director, promoting professional growth and a cohesive educational environment.
- Uphold and exceed state of Louisiana licensing regulations and standards, embodying the excellence of St. Michael’s Episcopal Preschool.
- Innovate and implement curricula that not only meet developmental milestones but also encourage curiosity and a love of learning.
- Develop and integrate new methods for connecting parents with classrooms in a post-COVID world, fostering community and transparency.
- Initiate and cultivate an alumni association to maintain long-term engagement with our preschool community.
- Manage administrative and financial aspects of the program, ensuring resources are utilized effectively to support our educational goals.
- Maintain a positive relationship with St. Michael’s church, rector, and vestry.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in leading early childhood education programs, with a passion for the Episcopal educational philosophy.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record in mentoring educators.
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities, including experience with budget management, teacher, and program evaluation.
- Outstanding communication skills, capable of fostering relationships with children, staff, parents, and the wider church community.
- Leadership experience in an early learning or preschool setting, preferably within an Episcopal or similar Christian educational framework.
- Experience in developing parent engagement strategies and community-building initiatives in educational settings.
