Call for Vestry Nominations

If you are a member in good standing and would like to serve on the vestry, or know someone you'd like to nominate, or just want to find out more about what’s entailed, please contact Pat Robert or talk to anyone with "Vestry" on their nametag before and after Sunday services.
St. Michael's Celebrates Completion of Capital Campaign Phase I
Mandeville, LA, May 7, 2025--St. Michael’s Episcopal Church celebrated the completion of Phase I of its Growing in Faith Together (GIFT) capital construction campaign Monday with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Pavilion Pad on campus.
“This is not just concrete and construction,” said the Very Rev. Robert Beazley, Rector of St. Michael’s. “This is ministry in motion. This is the Church preparing to meet more neighbors, bless more families, and embody the love of Christ in new ways.”
In addition to St. Michael’s vestry, parishioners, PreK 4 classes and their teachers, representatives of Greenleaf Architects, Bradley Design Construction and Kyle Associates were on hand to mark the occasion. Emily Sontag, head of school for St. Michael’s Episcopal Preschool, said “These enhancements will create a more welcoming, functional, and beautiful space for everyone to enjoy. Today we recognize the strength of community that makes progress possible.”
Phase I construction consisted of the addition of two new parking lots, paving the roadway around the perimeter of the property, and construction of a pavilion pad between the two school buildings, which will eventually be covered to create an attractive and functional outdoor gathering space for the church and school. Extensive drainage work included laying 4,000 feet of underground pipes and eliminating open ditches around the campus. Due to tree removal and ground leveling during construction, significant landscaping improvements were also made. For every tree that was removed, three trees native to our area were planted. Grass sod and hydroseed were laid where construction had torn up the grounds.
“It’s been a massive undertaking,” said Beazley, “but necessary for us to grow as a faith community and preschool. God calls us to dream big dreams, and I’m excited to see where those dreams take us.”
