Partners in Outreach
Answering God's Call in our Community
Service in our Northshore community and beyond is a valued part of life in our congregation. In addition to encouraging members to engage in their own acts of service and ministry, we regularly partner with community organizations who need our help. Please contact St. Michael’s Church Office at 985-626-5781 for more information on how to get involved with any of our outreach ministries.

Kairos Prison Ministry
Karios is a lay-led, interdenominational Christian ministry in which men and women volunteers bring Christ's unconditional love and forgiveness to incarcerated individuals, their families, and those who work with them. The Kairos programs take the participants on a journey that demonstrates the values that Jesus Christ taught. Kairos Prison Ministry is Christian in nature, although no religious affiliation is necessary to be a participant. Cookie Guidelines and Recipes |
Family Promise
Family Promise is a faith-based community response to the issue of homeless families and children, sometimes known as the "invisible homeless." St. Michael's hosts families twice a year in our Parish Life Center, providing meals, fellowship and a safe place to sleep for a week at a time. When our Family Promise guests are at St. Michael's, we need volunteers to assist with cooking and serving meals, providing fellowship, and serving as overnight chaperones, among other duties. |
Habitat for Humanity
Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Since its founding in 1981, Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West (Habitat STW) has worked to address the need of affordable housing by building and selling new homes to low-income families in the area. St. Michael’s rector serves on the Habitat STW board. The church also partners with Habitat STW by participating in Community Build days as well as through financial contributions. Check our annual calendar for the next upcoming build. No experience necessary! |
